Abstract: This is a look at the Tinnitus and Decreased Sound Tolerance (DST) Program we developed at Boston Children's Hospital and a summary of the clinical data we have collected since we started the program 2 years ago.

Summary: Clinical guidance and resources for providing audiological care to children with tinnitus and DST issues are scarce and there are few pediatric programs to emulate. In our experience the need for these services is great, and it has been important to be able to serve this population of patients. We developed clinical practice guidelines and collected data on the characteristics of patients who have come through our program since we started it two years ago. As of the writing of this summary 140 children have been seen for management of tinnitus or DST. The information we present will highlight the benefits of offering tinnitus and DST services to children and their families. Sharing our experience may encourage others to consider developing competency in this area and therefore improve access to these services.
