Hearing loss is a known risk factor for several medical conditions, including but not limited to depression, greater fall risk, greater likelihood of hospital admissions, and dementia. Medical professionals outside of the hearing health field are important sources of health information but may lack the time, resources, and knowledge necessary to promote hearing health. Audiologists can help medical professionals direct their patients to a trusted resource for hearing healthcare.
