With the introduction of the groundbreaking OpenSound Navigator (OSN), Oticon Medical changed how bone anchored hearing aid users experience complex hearing environments. Instead of using conventional directionality to focus on the speaker, the high-speed precision of the OpenSound Navigator technology opened up a 360° soundscape. This preserves speech and gives access to sound from all around the user. Clinical data on OSN feature is described in clinical studies where speech understanding and listening effort is investigated by the means of pupillometry; looking at pupil dilation.
Learning Objectives:
To measure the effect of Open Sound Navigator for bone anchored hearing implants.
To understand how pupillometry can be used to measure listening effort when using auditory implants.
To differentiate speech understanding from listening effort and how they correlate.
