Many hearing aid wearers struggle with ease of listening, and effective communication in background noise. Conventional hearing aid technology is limited in that it is confined to a single-stream processor. Signia’s split processing in the Augmented Xperience chip circumvents this limitation by splitting the incoming acoustic signal into two separate streams. One processor analyzes the Focus sounds, such as speech, and a second processor analyzes Surrounding or distracting sounds. In this Industry Update, we discuss the technology behind Signia’s Augmented Focus™ Split Processing, the benefits and advantages of the Augmented Xperience technology for patients, and the AX hearing aid portfolio.
