Chelsea Koach is a graduate student at The University of Texas at Dallas in the Doctorate of Audiology Program. She received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in American Sign Language at The University of Texas at Austin. Chelsea works in Dr. Kelly Jahn’s Neuroaudiology Lab. Research in the lab explores changes in auditory perception and emotional sound processing across the lifespan and as a consequence of hearing loss. The central motivation of the lab is to develop improved diagnostic tools and personalized interventions for hearing loss, specifically for individuals who use cochlear implants and for those who experience hyperacusis. Chelsea’s research focuses on current diagnosis, management, and treatment of patients with sound sensitivities.
