Eve Higby, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at California State University, East Bay, where she directs the Multilingualism Lab. She has a PhD in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences, with a concentration in Cognitive Science, from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and a Bachelor's degree in Spanish, with an emphasis in Linguistics and in Latin American & Caribbean Studies from Florida International University. After her doctorate, Dr. Higby completed a 3-year postdoctoral research fellowship in Psychology at the University of California, Riverside.
Dr. Higby's research focuses on language, cognition, and brain processes in bilinguals and multilinguals across the lifespan. She has been awarded numerous grants to support her research, including three awards from the National Science Foundation. Her website is evehigby.com.
