Student Researcher
University of Pittsburgh
McMurray, Pennsylvania
I am an undergraduate student researcher at the University of Pittsburgh, completing my senior year at the University of Pittsburgh. I will graduate with a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in Communication Science and Disorders jointly awarded by the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS) and the Honors College. After completing my undergraduate coursework, I will pursue a Doctorate of Audiology degree. My broad research objectives are to study cochlear synaptopathy, a loss of inner hair cell synapses that may lead to difficulty hearing in noise, and how aging, hearing impairment, and noise exposure interact with synapse loss. I have been involved in multiple electrophysiological and neurophysiological studies, resulting in publications for the Annual MidWinter Meeting of the Association for Research in Otolaryngology and the American Academy of Audiology Annual Conference.
