Dr. Adriana Lacerda completed her Ph.D. at the University of Montreal, Biomedical Sciences program – Audiology option (2007). She holds a Bachelor in Fonoaudiologia (1991) and a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders (1998) from the Tuiuti do Parana University in Brazil. Currently, she is an associate professor at the School of Speech Therapy and Audiology – Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal and an researcher at the research center of the institut universitaire de geriatrie de Montréal. Her teaching and research activities focus on optimizing psychosocial variables such as the quality of life, social participation, the quality of healthcare services, promotion and prevention in audiology, reduction of the stigma associated with hearing loss and ageism, and the prevention and/or early identification of age-related and work-related hearing loss.
