Dr. Maegan Mapes has 25 years experience in the field of audiology. She attended University of Pittsburgh , The Ohio State University, and Salus University. She worked in many settings such as ENT practices, private practice, schools, nursing homes, and hospitals. Her last few years in private practice she spent extensive time in the local schools providing support for children with hearing loss and auditory processing disorders. Dr. Mapes worked an and educational training specialist at Oticon. The fall of 2021 Dr. Mapes became an assistant professor at Penn State University. Her responsibilities involve teaching undergraduate students along with seeing seeing patients in the speech and hearing clinic. Her specialty in the clinic is a focus on patients with central auditory processing disorders for diagnosis and therapy. Dr. Mapes also supervises masters level speech therapy students that have an interest in children with hearing loss and central auditory processing disorders.
