Kailyn A. McFarlane is currently a 5th-year PhD candidate at Northwestern University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science with a minor in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from University of Arizona, where she first began her work in auditory neuroscience under Dr. Barbara Cone. Now under Dr. Jason Sanchez, she has continued to develop her knowledge and skillset towards studying the central auditory system. Her research interests span the physiological and perceptual mechanisms involved in complex auditory scene analysis, with a particular focus on speech-in-noise understanding. Upon graduation, she hopes to continue her work in translational research to improve clinical practices in Audiology.
