Maggie Gehm, MS, is in their final year of Gallaudet University’s audiology program as they complete their clinical fellowship at Westchester Institute for Human Development. They hold Bachelor's degrees in Linguistics and Communication Disorders from UMass Amherst, and a Master’s degree in Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences from Gallaudet University. Previously, Maggie was an overnight childcare worker for Walden School at The Learning Center for the Deaf in Massachusetts. They also acted as co-teacher of Gallaudet’s Peer Mentoring program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults. In 2020, Maggie completed their thesis titled "Musicians’ advantage in music perception tasks using fine structure cochlear implant technology," under supervision of Nathaniel Whitmal, Ph.D. From 2020 to 2022, they assisted David Thornton, Ph.D in research for Gallaudet's Human Neurophysiology Lab. Their current research is conducted as part of Gallaudet's Multicultural Research Lab under the primary supervision of Ishara Ramkisson, Ph.D., CCC-A.
