Jacy Manning, AuD, PhD is a clinical research audiologist at Hearts for Hearing. Her research interests involve the use of brain imaging techniques combined with behavioral testing to investigate neural correlates of speech perception in individuals with cochlear implants. Her current research is focused on determining if phonetic categorization skills predict speech perception outcomes in quiet and noise in adult CI users. Identification of biomarkers associated with successful speech and language outcomes in CI recipients will allow for earlier and more effective clinical interventions. Her other research interestes include hearing loss in pediatric patients, health inequieties in hearing health care, hearing techhnology, and Auditory Processing Disorder.
