Vinay Swarnalatha Nagaraj is a Professor (Audiology) at the Institute of Neuromedicine and Movement Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Hearing and Speech Sciences with an emphasis in psychoacoustics, diagnostics, and rehabilitative audiology. He has academic qualifications from the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysuru, India, and Cambridge University, UK. His research efforts have primarily focused on understanding the mechanisms of normal hearing and hearing impairments and the perception of speech and non-speech sounds. Within this broad area, he has focused on hidden hearing disorders, cochlear dead regions, and perceptual consequences of music and noise exposure.
