Carrie Rubenstein, MD

Carrie graduated geriatrics fellowship in 2006 and then worked for eight years in a Federally Qualified Health Center in Seattle, WA. I was then recruited to direct the Geriatrics Fellowship at Swedish Medical Center in 2014. I am both faculty for our family medicine residency program and I direct the geriatrics fellowship program. I am thrilled to share my passion for older adults with family medicine residents, geriatric medicine fellows, and medical students.

My areas of interest include geriatrics workforce solutions, interprofessional practice and education, and elder mistreatment. One of the highlights of my current work is directing an Interprofessional Geriatric Assessment Clinic at Swedish - a service where physician, social work, pharmacy, nursing, and psychology trainees and faculty work together to evaluate complex older adults in function, cognition, and care planning.

Outside of work, I enjoy running, biking, and adventuring with my daughter Zelda and my husband Justin.
