Prof Faheema Mahomed-Asmail is an Associate Professor at the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, University of Pretoria, South Africa. Prof Mahomed-Asmail’s research interest lies in providing access to person-centered ear and hearing health care through innovative solutions. She has a number of publications on this topic and currently holds an H-index of 12. Her knowledge and experience in the field has resulted in a number of local and international collaborations as well as successful funding opportunities. Prof Mahomed-Asmail is currently the chairperson of the Education and Research committee for the South African Speech-Language-Hearing Association (SASLHA) and an editor for the South African Journal of Communication Disorders. She is also an active member of the Global Person-Centred Hearing Network and IDA-SA steering group. She holds an NRF Y1 rating and is a fellow of the Department of Higher Education’s Future Professors Program.
