Lt Col Kwame Curtis, retired this year after 20 years in the Air Force. He successfully held Chief of Audiology at multiple Medical Groups in Omaha, NE, Scott, AFB, and Aviano, Italy, to name a few. He has also served as the Commander of Surgical Services in Lakenheath, UK and Commander of Public Health and Bioenvironmental Engineering at Keesler, AFB. Dr. Curtis has worked on military blast exposure, collaborating with NATO colleagues all over the world; this includes his time as the Air Force Audiology Liaison at the DoD Center of Excellence.
Since retiring, Dr. Curtis formed a private practice specializing in clinical, mobile and forensic audiology. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors for Central Institute for the Deaf, and both exec committees for American Academy of Audiology and Military Audiology Association. Finally, Dr. Curtis was in the inaugural class of the Jerger Future Leaders of Audiology.
