In terms of global creativity and competitiveness, diverse collaborative teams with unique viewpoints outperform homogeneous teams. This workshop is an open dialogue with participants regarding the lack of diversity in the field of audiology and hearing science. The interactive discussion includes benefits of a diversified clinical, educational, and scientific workforce within the AAA community. We will discuss the value of changing systems to promote inclusion, access, and belonging, as well as the significance of mentoring in diverse professionals' recruitment, retention in audiology. We will discuss how diversity impacts the effectiveness of clinical service delivery, education, and generalizability of research findings.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to identify the benefits of a diversified clinical, educational, and scientific workforce within the AAA community.
  • Participants will be able to discuss the value of changing systems to promote inclusion, access, and belonging.
